Kulo'ou'ou Ridge Trail - December 28, 2014

Last hike of 2014 we decided to hike Kuli'ou'ou Ridge, a pretty popular hike on the South side of Oahu that over looks the Windward side of Oahu. In this photo you can see the Mokulua Islands on the left and Rabbit Island on the right. This is a relatively easy hike that took us about 3-4 hours.

After finding parking we began the hike! Parking is in a residential area so please be respectful to the residents and do not block mailboxes, driveways, etc.

Once you follow the paved road left you'll spot these signs on the right along with the trail. That is the beginning of the trail.

Shortly after the first set of signs you'll reach this crossroad. Follow the Kuli'ou'ou Ridge Trail right to reach the top of the ridge.

The trail is well maintained and very obvious to follow. Most of the way looks just like this.

It wasn't look before we could pop our heads out the thick trees. Glad it was overcast and hazy or it would have been hot!

After a nice breeze we continued up the trail.

After about an hour on the trail we came across this bench. Before this bench there is a shaded table perfect to take a snack break & here is another perfect break stop. From here till the top is about 30 minutes with a little more challenging incline.

After getting out of the trees you'll be hiking on the ridge. We spotted Koko Head on the left side of the ridge.

It was surprisingly cold hiking at the top of the ridge. Must of been the Hawai'i winter weather.

There is some helpful stairs along the way.

Just enjoying the view.

Club Sierra with some friendly advice.

The final stretch!

After about 10 minutes of incline we seen this hole in between the trees which leads to the top.

& what an amazing view!

It was pretty cold at the top with some breezy winds. We relaxed and refueled with some GR3EN Organic Elixir.

Rabbit Island in the back.

Mokulua Islands and Lanikai in the back.

That's all folks!

We would like to thank everyone for supporting Venture Hawai'i in 2014 and we look forward to making 2015 even better!
