Very popular beach on the North Shore of Oahu, Waimea Bay. Famously known for it's 20ft plus waves during the winter time, its awesome fun 3ft shore break and the giant rock on the left side of the bay you can jump off of during the summer.
Venture around the bay and find the HI rock pile.
Those dare to jump take a few second adrenaline rush into the ocean.
The sandy bottom of Waimea Bay makes it great for some water training. "Running rock" became popular after the Hawai'i surf movie titled "Blue Crush."
Behind the Bay lays Waimea Valley known for its waterfall deep in the valley. Here's a shot of the Waimea Bay Bridge along with the stream that follows. I do not recommend swimming in there though.
Waimea bay is one of the most famous beaches on Oahu. We'll have more photos for you this winter of the amazing surf that hits this shore.
